Clos de la Roche makes up 1.5 hectares of Château des Jacques' 27-hectare Moulin-à-Vent vineyard. The soil is granitic with a shallow topsoil, and the bedrock is very hard, consisting of granite blocks and intact quartz. Moulin-à-Vent is considered the Cru Beaujolais that most closely resembles red wines from the Côte d'Or.

It is a very beautiful, brilliant deep garnet color. It is rich in various aromas, reminiscent of violets, dried rose petals, and ripe small black fruits. From a wonderful attack, tannins spread, and you can perceive a "richness." Then, wonderful aromas are evoked again. The flavors intensify over time.
