This is the company's flagship wine, produced since 1954. Salice Salentino was recognized as a DOC in 1976 thanks to the company's achievements. Since the 2004 vintage, bottles have featured a mark commemorating its 50th anniversary. Since the 2009 vintage, this high-quality wine has received the Tre Bicchieri award three times from Gambero Rosso.

It has a concentrated red appearance with garnet hues at the rim. Following aromas of fruits like blackberry and black cherry, the scent of basil and sweet spices derived from barrel aging is impressive. It has a smooth mouthfeel with moderate tannins and a long finish.
