M. Chapoutier Ermitage Rouge L'Ermite 2019 750ml Ermitage Rouge L'Ermite

"L'Hermite Rouge" is a cuvée produced since the 1996 vintage. The vineyard surrounds the chapel near the summit of Hermitage hill, and is a sunny slope. It is a single vineyard subdivided into plots, and this limited production wine is made from grapes from old vines cultivated using biodynamic farming methods.

A very deep, almost black, garnet color. The aroma is dominated by black fruits such as blackberry, with notes of spice and ink. Smoky and peppery, this wine beautifully expresses the characteristics of the Syrah grape from granite soils. It is a full-bodied wine with smooth yet powerful tannins and a long finish, capable of aging for a very long period.
