The Charmes-Chambertin vineyard is located on an east-facing slope. "Charmes" is said to be derived from the word "Chaumes," meaning either "delicate" or "stubble fields" (indicating harvested grain) from when grain fields once existed there.

Beautiful deep red color. It boasts an impressive aroma of cassis and rich berry fruits. With age, notes of musk, leather, and licorice emerge. This is a powerful and well-structured wine.
