Morgon is one of the ten Beaujolais Crus, covering about 1,100 hectares, with soil composed of schist and granite. This wine embodies the characteristics of Morgon, which is said to have the most masculine taste among the Beaujolais Crus.

The distinctive character of Morgon comes from the rich volcanic soil in which the grapes grow. While possessing a firm structure and power, the tannins also show the suppleness characteristic of the Gamay variety.
